I furthermore have a 1450 and the big D3060070A and I FINALLY first got it to work!
SOLUTION: I needed to get the JV file inside a folder called JCV within a folder called Garmin around the SD card. NEVER had to make this happen before.

Lifetime Updater went smooth as silk. I have no idea whats new regarding the update, but it truly is the latest as-of today. Downloading now and speed generally seems to be doing rather well. Its hanging rather close towards the 5mps max on my own cable connection. There are some deep dips in speed, but none near zero.

Since the 750 uses full-size SD cards, I finally found a use for my only non-micro SD card. The entire North America is installed and runs fine through the SD card.

It downloaded the maps at 10Mb/s, installed the maps in this little 3490 and has become installing new maps around the 3760. About 1 1/2 hours total.
Just an update. This is likely a final map update that may fit in the unit with 2GB. After this update I have only 33MB left in of memory space. My roommates 255W is at their maximum. I had to delete 23MB of unused vehicles from her device to adjust to the map.
Fortunately Im prepared. I have a very 4GB card on her behalf and already use a 16GB in mine.
