I put this book down about 2/3 on the way through. The plot is outlandish, but entertaining, along with the characters are exciting. However, because the plot approached its climax, the writing completely stopped working. Im not a stickler for period-specific language and the truth is often find it stilted, but once the heroine wailed, Its my fault, okay, I threw in the towel.

I was at the mood to get a spinster historical this also one sounded cute on paper. But its NOT a Regency romance novel.
It reads overly modern. Regency England was very stuffy and formal. Not one person said pregnant pregnant wasnt really spoken aloud for 100s of years. Lucy couldnt even tell Ricky she was pregnant on TV within the 1950s. The language 's all over the place. One minute it sounds fluffy Regency That became a jolly crush Smash this, this ball is certainly a crush that it's just completely modern using the characters playing dress up in Regency costume.
The heroine wasnt really everything that likable. She started off style of humorous then again the hero falls for her and hubby really looks being a dunce seeking to catch her while she gets NO emotions whatsoever. She was Ice Princess as well as the hero was stuck on stupid seeking to get her to express yes
Pass this on by like scenary.

I would know this as book an absolutely non-historical historical romance. Books set from the past that usually do not at least supply a reader a hint for the year undoubtedly are a pet peeve of mine. Is this Regency? Victorian? What? I have no clue. Of course, it might too be set inside present day since there really is no work for balance a setting whatsoever, in addition to mention of attending a ball.
So, in the event you are just enthusiastic about romance without the need of thought or care as to your setting, proceed.

It was that poorly written and planned. This book actually earns the honor of containing the worst love scene Ive ever read around my entire life.
Of course, immediately, Mr. Jenkins falls head over heads with Olivia and should have her as his wife. He courts her and she or he rejects him time and time again. It is definitely an utterly painful plot to follow along with.
This can be a very light-weight story. The characters are sketchy, without real depth. Read more

First coming from all, while this really is longer than a quick story, it's not necessarily a full novel. Its in regards to hundred pages long, thus it was a nice read to have an hour and also a half and definitely worth the price I paid.
Unlike other reviewers, I didnt mind the non-Regency speech and actions. I think it might have been done better, however its not so horrible and Im not this type of stickler that I refused to remain reading. But that is something to be aware of before reading the novella in the event you are a stickler.
While a symptom is lighthearted and fun, the center and end become muddled using the whole basis just for this new series The Reluctant Bride, wherein Olivia absolutely will not marry Nathaniel. I understand her fear and I recognize that the writer didnt want this to get a quickly ended conflict because then Olivia can have seemed flighty but her refusal did actually drag the story plot down. I think their courtship must have lasted longer before Nathaniel proposed because nearly half with the novella is used up with attempting to wear Olivia down and Im just wondering why hes bothering. Theyd barely known one another for more than a week before he proposed!
I think in the event the courtship was longer, if theyd gotten to understand each other a tad bit more, therefore we saw them interact more to be a couple, then I might have been more happy to believe that he did love her and did wish to marry her. In inception, I even rooted for Olivia in refusing him because her fears on the time seemed more founded. She was afraid so it wouldnt last, which it was just lust, knowning that their relationship would change into her parents marriage and I understood those fears. But she held onto those fears for days on end and inside the end, we almost go to see Olivia as cold and heartless. Read more

This is one with the most entertaining books I have ever read. It was funny, crazy, unpredictable and held my interest from beginning to end.

I wasnt really prepared for that content of the book. However, the story plot line kept me reading, while I dont usually check this out type of fiction.
