I bought a laptop a touch longer than twelve months and a half ago. Last year, I accidentally spilled water about it. It disconnect by itself, but somebody turned it on immediately, it shut down by itself again. Then it won t boot. I took the notebook apart, blew dry each of the parts, and set them back together. It boots, but only once the battery has power inside it AND the AC adapter is NOT plugged in. Isn t that weird?!
Last week, laptops was off when I returned home that it was on when I sought out. I found the light around the AC adapter was off alone, after which the battery was drained. That was why the notebook was off. But I really stood a very hard time turning it back on. Somehow the battery were built with a little power left, sufficient to turn it back on, and within literally another I plugged the AC power in and started charging the car battery.
Now internet connected computers is working again. But I am very annoyed because of the fact that if battery goes bad eventually, the laptop are going to be useless.
Can someone please provide me some hint? What possibly went wrong? How can I remedy it?

I took it towards the shop, consider I m overseas, these were very unexperienced, and weren t quite sure how to proceed, explained I d should buy a complete new laptop keyboard a lot like it for 1000 sr, that's really really expensive and won t come for two main weeks, I dunno what s the sale. Also, super glue spilled for the underside in the I key which remained exposed make the actual secret's gone which, although I attempted to take out it with acetone, I couldn t get a hold from the acetone till the overnight, and that it was already dried and ruined, now the key requires another push when typing and contains a lot of friction, that's super irritating and inefficient.
Is there other things I could try or should I you need to take the plunge and set my precious laptop over these guys hands? It s still under warranty, though the warranty isn t honored in a very different country, the country you got it in, unfortunately. Thanks for any help, much much appreciated

I have just experienced a Compaq Presario M2000 handed in my opinion with the words it doesn t work. With the two power cable plugged in and never plugged in, it doesn t boot. It has power as indicated through the power light, but that's all it can do, power on. there's two leds blinking, one across the scroll num lk button then one next towards the caps lock button. The harddrive does not power on, and also the DVD ROM acts like its gonna then stops, and repeats this again and again. It initially beeped twice when it absolutely was first powered on, but after removing and reseating the ram that stopped. As it sits at this time there is nothing but one stick of ram inside, no HD, no DVD, the needed hardware to have it started. I m stumped now. Here are a few from the things I tried 38; the symptoms that resulted:
1 Tried to start with just the motherboard, the screen, the processor heat sink, the fan, plus the power adapter. At this aspect, the memory modules were the one other thing plugged in.
Result: Fan starts up for 5 seconds possibly even, and turns off. Screen dark.
2 Reset the machine using a paper clip, because the HP manual suggests.
3 Added the optical drive with all the XP system disk inserted.

Try starting laptops without the LCD screen connected, use a monitor instead. Check if your video cable is properly connected for the motherboard.
