Ive only had 1 virus that I wasn't able to take out with AVG, but apart from that AVG does an excellent job of protecting cleaning every system that I own! I currently use it on my small laptop running xp pro sp3 and my desktop running vista home premium 64bit.

I had similar problem in this little Windows XP PC. AVG Free 8.0 just reported error and stopped the uninstall process. I rebooted to Safe Mode and run the AVG Free install program that s made available from AVG website be aware that you may not be capable of uninstall AVG from Control Panel even during Safe Mode, and select uninstall current program when being asked.
