In this tutorial you'll learn how to develop a realistic glass material and turn our chess pawn in a realistic glass object. Key terms include reflection, refraction, opacity, and fall-off. Step 11 In the Material Editor produce a copy in the Glass material and name it Glass Int. Make sure the option 2-Sided is enabled for that Glass Int material but disabled with the Glass material. Assign the Glass Int material on the clone and be sure the original Glass material is assigned for the outside model.
Step 12 Render again F9 or F10 and spot the difference. You should have something similar as shown around the right. The actual result will be based mostly for the geometry of the model as well as environment. Try out different background and look into the results.

Why as i am rendering, where are white flash the setting of that poly becomes black, other surface that happen to be dosent reflecting any light on surface look excellent. The light difraction inside glass look nice too. But once i make for example a sphere there is often a black squares on top of it whit white flash What i am doing wrong?

I used 3DS Max 2012 this also tutorial worked fine! Had to switch in the slate material editor on the compact material editor, ut worked just like a charm! The rendering took ages, but was really worth result Awesome tutorial, tried on the extender for my 3D Modelling Alleyway scene at Uni Other websites are simply full of technical jargon and fancy words, this tutorial was clear plus the screenshots were really helpful. I just like the red boxes around what needed for being selected, almost every other tutorials just provide the screenshot and outline the best places to click. Thanks just for this I would definitely get a texture and produce an opacity map on Photoshop, but this saved me a great deal of time! Thanks again
