My PC lets me run any game I want. Most modern games run at 720p, 60 frames-per-second, 4xAA on my own 46 HDTV. This includes Fallout 3 and Dead Space. Let me preface my review that has a brief story: When GTA IV arrived in May for consoles, I purchased the latest PS3 only to play it. To this day it will be the only game I own for my PS3, which sits largely unused but like a testament to Rockstars masterpiece. Im not a console gamer, but Sony and Rockstar made more than 500 from me around the release of GTA IV but having seen this incredible mess pushed out I do not think Ill ever purchase another Rockstar product.
I suppose it is important to say I have not actually purchased GTA IV for PC, although I do have firsthand exposure to this travesty. A good friend of mine called me over the weekend and asked if I wouldnt mind considering his computer, because based on him, his rig was running GTA IV very slow. When I arrived I could hardly believe this device was through the same company I gave my money to.
Everything you read the following is accurate. SecuROM, with or without teeth, is always on the detriment of honest consumers and here it is 100 % effect. But not content with that, Rockstar apparently made it feasible to play the sport if and only should you agree to Byzantine Windows Live and Rockstar Social Club contracts. That is frankly unacceptable by any standard. And to end it, over a computer using a Quad-Core, two 8800 Ultras in SLI, and 8 yes, eight GB of RAM the overall game runs worse pc ever did on my own PS3. And it's about the identical. I thought GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas were superb games that have been funny and entertaining that has a good mixture of shootem up, adventure/quest and interactivity to accommodate most tastes. Those titles stayed on my own hard drive for an extended time and supplied me with much entertainment.
Im sorry to say that GTA IV lasted in this little hard drive approximately 6 hours. The vast majority of that was spent trying to have the thing to operate.
Im sorry I didnt occur Amazon and look into the negative reaction that mafia wars has generated before taking on my hard earned cash just for this incredibly disappointing total waste and money. The sheer number of just one star reviews here would've warned me away on the game, much like the plague.
Like several reviewers here, I feel cheated from my money by Rockstar games and Im very angry concerning this. Rockstar have gone relating to business in the very underhanded way. There should be clear stickers with this product declaring that various username and password are needed to participate in the offline game. I and Ill wager almost all users dont need a Windows Live account, nor do I particularly want Rockstar Social Club account either. I was taken aback when I learned that I could not save ANY progress in single player mode without taking Windows Live. It says the services, like Live as well as the Social Club, are just required for multiplayer mode. They lie about the box and again in the install.

I called Take2games plus they confirm that you can not save should you not sign-in.
