Unless you own an n band wireless router, wlan is actually much useless. I cant even play a 800kbps xvid file without stuttering horribly. This device really uses a wired connection to make use of the network function properly.
My 110D works well, streaming over wireless G network, jsut having a generic wifi dongle i acquired ages ago in europe. Ill have a very better glance at the dongle at some point see who causes it to become. I get no stuttering in any way.

upgraded mine recently. Couple of observations:

At first glance it appears to be the annoyance of needing to turn off sub titles per new file played has become corrected. They now apparently stay off unless wanting them on.

Will the Astone 110D play H.264 Mp4 files?
I have converted my DVD collection to the using MCE Buddy software.
I heard some place that units dependant on this chipset have issues streaming content from windows 7. Im not sure what age these statements were. Is that the case or was this a well used problem which includes now been fixed. Im seeking one nevertheless it will be useless when it cant hook up to my Win7 machine.

I got this unit yesterday I use Win 7, it can be a treat.
Upgraded to latest firmware 1.9 Beta2 performs better still.
The unit plays everything else you throw advertising, while using Wireless dongle streams without having stuttering whatsoever.

I was really curious how a network function with the 110d works. My server, where I keep my moviestv shows, basically features a few shared directories by which everythings contained everything also sits within its sub folder. Do you manually add each movie with the 110d, or can you tag directories because of it to list, what. Just not sure how thats all supposed to figure. Theres plenty of crap for the shared directories that I dont really need to try out through the 110d, so I hope it doesnt just scan all available networked directories something like that, because that may suck.

The 110d will surely display all shared directories for given ip address. Coming from an xbox1 while using excellent XBMC interface and power to setup shortcuts this aspect was a very important factor that really bugged me.
But I bit the bullet and rearranged things a tad so that I had far fewer shared directories etc. There is kind of your shortcut option but this just lets you arrive at the actual server that has a couple less clicks from the remote and doesnt help as soon as you get there when it comes to navigation.
Theres a script within this thread through the ACRyan forums and that is the easiest solution.
I tried all of those other steps which registry change was the sole thing that worked.
Does it assist HFS Formatted drives the AP-110D, or could be the WDTV live better?

The Official firmware provides the light blue background as you move the Zinwell incorporates a black background, no real difference apart from that. The AP-110D plays most formats.

I remember Astone 110D v2 is slightly different media player compared to the v1 and I dont think the firmwares might be shared. Make sure you use a v2 Astone 110D.
You may be better emailing Acheiva to have more info around the firmwares posted with your link.
Also is it possible you please guide me in upgrading to this firmware. I tried following a steps mentioned from the manual but all I get on clicking Firmware Upgrade can be a red symbol which I believe means unacceptable or similar.

Heres what I had copied from 1.99 firmware
1. Copy the file to your root directory of USB flash drive, insert it in to the player.
2. Hold along the power button around the player for three seconds then release the ability button. Update the progress at this time will probably be displayed about the TV screen, please hold off until the update is complete.
