Ive used Cubase for quite a while for my very own production and ProTools whenever Im inside the the studio. I purchased Logic Studio for three reasons.
Logic Studio met my 3 needs and surpassed them by miles! This program runs circles around Cubase for additional reasons than I can count so I wont spending some time there though the thing that surprised me was the out-of-the-box functionality that eclipsed anything I couldve gotten in ProTools for under a few thousand. Plus the MIDI functionality rivaled my other favorite program, Reason 4.
I run LS on my small MacBook 2.4GHz, 4GB, Leopard 10.5.5 plus it runs smoothly without ANY issues. The LS track count embarrasses ProTools. So far, Ive run 24 tracks of MIDI instruments 6 ReWired to Reason and 24 sound recording simultaneously without the need of clipping.
At the period, Logic Pro 8 had surpassed my expectations but once I started configuring MainStage and utilizing WaveBurner, I was in love. I havent touched SoundStage or Compressor yet.
There will probably be some arguments in the ProTools faithful. I know people have their personal preferences but I think it would be tough to argue that at less than 500, LS is really a steal to the out-of-the-box functionality.
Apple finally includes a program that does not only competes but excels. You can bet that Apple support for DigiDesign will diminish seeing that LS fades Ive already commenced to see this dropoff.

I am a 15-year veteran of utilizing DAW and midi software, and this also new version of Logic Pro within the Logic Studio bundle blows away everything I have used when it comes to power, ease-of-use, and sound. While everyone must find the best software with regards to use and workflow, I am selling my copies of Digital Performer, Pro Tools, and Live to ensure I can concentrate on Logic. It does everything I need, and much more.
The number of included software instruments, plug-ins, loops, sounds, is robust. The one-window layout is all to easy to navigate. So far I have ported over some tunes from my other DAWs as audio and midi files, and it is I am already able to obtain better sounding mixes and masters with MINIMAL may need to look up stuff inside manual. Its pretty darned intuitive. Logical, I suppose!
If that you are into audio and midi recording, songwriting, audio production, Logic Studio would have been a great addition on your portfolio of applications. And, as i am, you might find yourself selling off all from the old software you've struggled with to concentrate on this one.

Ive used Cubase for several years for my very own production and ProTools whenever Im inside the studio. I purchased Logic Studio for three reasons.
Logic Studio met my 3 needs and surpassed them by miles! This program runs circles around Cubase to get more reasons than I can count so I wont spend some time there though the thing that surprised me was the out-of-the-box functionality that eclipsed anything I couldve gotten in ProTools for under a few thousand. Plus the MIDI functionality rivaled my other favorite program, Reason 4.
I run LS on my own MacBook 2.4GHz, 4GB, Leopard 10.5.5 plus it runs smoothly without ANY issues. The LS track count embarrasses ProTools. So far, Ive run 24 tracks of MIDI instruments 6 ReWired to Reason and 24 sound files simultaneously without the need of clipping.
At that time, Logic Pro 8 had surpassed my expectations but once I started configuring MainStage and ultizing WaveBurner, I was in love. I havent touched SoundStage or Compressor yet.
There will likely be some arguments in the ProTools faithful. I know people have their personal preferences but I think it would be tricky to argue that at under 500, LS is often a steal for your out-of-the-box functionality.
Apple finally includes a program that only competes but excels. You can bet that Apple support for DigiDesign will diminish since LS has gone out Ive already commenced to see this dropoff.

The absence of support for those my 32 bit plugins is inexcusable. Furthermore I are actually using Logic for 8 several so many things don't work like they did on previous versions that I seem like I am facing a learning curve that may be ridiculously steep for the experienced user. And it does seem like Garage Band Pro.
I am going time for Logic 9. Apple is undoubtedly an arrogant company containing little if any loyalty to its customers. It doesnt matter for them how many products of theirs you've purchased - when you are not included in a current warranty they wont speak with you without having to pay a fee. I would never invest in a program that only runs using one platform again. Apple incorporates a monopoly with Logic and they also abuse it.
As far as I am concerned there have been no Pros simply because this update won't work.
I have Logic Pro 9.1.3 plus the update wouldn't normally do its thing.
Would NOT Update with this particular update.
Updating this review so others is going to be aware on the problem I experienced. I had problems updating Logic Pro, because I had renamed the app. In order with the update to use no hitches the apps name HAS TO BE Once I renamed it to that the update worked like a dream. Excellent.

Im seeking to install the 9.1.7 version, I have a pkg file so when I try to put in it comes up with a stern warning message saying An eligible Logic Pro version wasn't found from the Applications folder. This update requires Logic Pro version 9.0 or maybe more. What should I rename it to or possibly there one way I can solve this challenge? Thanks
Very nice, powerful with good features, a great deal of audio tools, loops, plugins etc. Good sounds and straightforward editing audio, midi etc.
A few small bugs, but nothing thatll keep you out of your work/music.
A great tool for pro musicians, producers and song writers.
If one does music with an Apple, no reason at all NOT to have it.
First, its produced by Apple and works seamlessly together with the hardware. Then, it rivals ProTools being an audio recorder, while costing thousands less. PLUS, its content has samplers, synths, effects, works w/video? The pros seem endless.
If you would imagine there are any cons with LogicStudio, you most likely dont know much in regards to the history of recorded music or much about LogicStudio.
Buy it. Use it. Thrill yourself and also the world.
Apple Logic Pro 9.1.3 is for me personally is highly professional.
It is beyond any recording system available.

I love how all files are classified together within a folder, that I can copy to your server a year on music, for EASY backup and restore. I utilize software to compose music, and Logic lets me make notes of song details in line together with the music.

The DAW is powerful. I can load movies in the time line having an audio track automatically created, so composition with video can be done. Mixing having an automated faders board is not difficult. I employ a Tascam 24 channel mixer. A ton of effects are around to sweeten and correct sound, as well as the boatload of Apple Loops, the percussion is best to me.

Im switching from DP4. I appreciate the host of features. But the transition will never be intuitive in any respect. I wish the program was more Logic-al in their interface. There are a couple of bugs audio dropouts during bounce/export, metronome clicks when powered down, waveburner wont import files or say why don't you, etc. etc. Hopefully, it continue to develop under Apple.
