This is often a great product for that money. I have used several editing programs on Windows plus iMovie extensively 08 and older. While I like iMovie, I was searching for just a little with additional control. So i bought this system.
At first, the interface seemed a little dated compared to Aperture, itunes, imovie, etc. However, after deploying it for several hours I cam to understand the interface is incredibly functionality and componetized according to task. I actually grew to understand the logic from the interface with use. So dont panic away with that simple thing.
Second, I hate having to understand new editing software. Personally, I dont think some of my iMovie knowledge transferred between programs. They will not be in any way exactly the same. However, I was capable of compose a 2 hour DVD about 5 unique segments in approximately 4 hours. I also spent one more 2 hours familiarizing myself using the concepts and features in the program. So this isnt bad. In a number of hours I had good video, edited, with nice transitions. I exported everything and made the DVD in iDVD. All this worked wonderfully together.
I highly recommend the offer to those who plan to do plenty of video editing. iMovie is wonderful if you need to create some simple one-off movies. However, for those who have larger projects and want for being guaranteed you could have control, go with this particular program.
