I have Acrobat 9 Standard attached with 4 computers and recently bought another copy from Amazon for any new PC. I knew that Adobes end-of support for Acrobat 9 was mid-2013, so now no updates can be purchased now from Amazon. My first four computers all have ten Acrobat 9 updates installed. Without the updates, Acrobat 9 is extremely vulnerable to hacking and loses some functionally. Anticipating the final of support last 2013, I downloaded and saved the ten updates. To my dismay, they do not install in my new installation. Searching the internet revealed this can be a common problem.
I now regret my last purchase since it is useless to me without the updates. I is likely to bite the bullet and acquire the current version of Acrobat.
Regarding the truth that the item is advertised as Condition New, I do not see that as a possible issue. It is new. Im writing this because I was surprised to determine an old version with a front page suggested list.
As stated within the Adobe Support Lifecycle Policy, Adobe provides 5 years of product support, starting in the general availability date of Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat. In line using this type of policy, support for Adobe Reader 9.x and Adobe Acrobat 9.x ended on June 26 2013.
There are known software exploits which will make this program a threat to your body if you put it to use to read PDFs over internet and other unvetted sources. I bought basically the same product from another seller Adobe Acrobat Standard 9 OLD VERSION but I wanted to supply an answer/correction to your most helpful critical review for your product listed here. The reviewer states the out-of-box product v9.0.0 can't be updated to the newest subversion of v9 offered by Adobe because Adobe is will no longer providing updates just for this discontinued product. The answer is that Adobe hasnt removed the updates using their web site. Theyve just broken the internet-based updating system within a way thats all to easy to get around.
I found a straightforward solution originally suggested by Van Tu was very beneficial for me using a Windows 10 Pro computer as of a single/17/15. After installing Acrobat Standard v9.0.0, simply temporarily change your laptop System date to something before 6/1/13. I simply changed the entire year on mine time for 2012. Then run Check for Updates in Acrobat. v9.2.0 will likely be found and applied. After the required reboot, Check for Updates probably will give the Updater is Already Running. Just patiently wait no less than a few minutes and also a SysTray notification alert will pop up through the Updater saying a whole new update has become found. With the new update, your product will likely be updated from v9.2 to v9.5.5 within a swoop. After the required reboot, make sure you set your body date/time back on the correct value. In my case, Norton Security informed me that my antivirus subscription had expired because from the magical 3-year step forward but running the Check Subscription Status fixed my Norton problem.
