Im a 54 years old female gamer too old be be considered a gamer chick. I love my World of Warcraft, and play a good amount of other games. Ive been playing on-line games since law school back within the early 80s, but I love my Age of Empires best! It works great on Windows 8 - superior than on Windows 7. In Windows 7, the shades were all messed up, but thats fixed now. I guess I can let my ancient computer die now, since I only agreed to be keeping it on life support to experience AoE.

This game has become around for any long time as online games go. Its fun to experience with the family on the home network. Use windows 7 for easier home group setup. The screen does turn funny colors, but I heard there is certainly an online fix for that minor annoyance. Over all fun for that entire family rated T for teen I suppose for cartoon violence.

Although some with the campaigns aren't 100% historicly accurate on the middle ages, nonetheless stays true on the overall Crusade type feel throughout the sport. That being said, I still have a couple of complaints in regards to the game involves a lot of economy micromanagement which diminishes planning combat strategy. Its tough to consentrate on greater than one thing, thus making the sport often stressful as an alternative to graphics are really good to the time it was released, but sometimes checking out the same sword swinging animatoin over and over is usually a small yawn.
3. The various troops will be the same look throughout all from the empires exept to the special units. Although the buildings fit the empire you're playing perfecly, the look on the units often dont fit the civilization that you are playing concerning example, Aztec warriors wearing chainmail. It was great for several weeks until their game and also the expansion eradicated. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling them without the need of luck.
