First off, Ill state that I am a fan of Lightroom and have absolutely been deploying it since Version 3. It is my go-to program for importingeditingstoring photos both from my Canon DSLR and my familys smartphones.
However, I was unhappy about precisely how long Adobe popularized fix glaring issues within their previous Lightroom 5, now Adobes new policies for Lightroom 6 are another thorn around my side. Specifically, a policy that standalone versions of Lightroom 6 can get no feature updates is simply a poor method to treat new and long-time Lightroom customers.
Looking at updates on the previous Lightroom 5, there are bug fixes obviously, but Lightroom also gained this functions:
Lightroom 5.2: added Feather control with the Clone/Heal brush, added Smoothness adjustment slider for Color Noise Reduction.
Lightroom 5.4: added support for Lightroom Sync.
Lightroom 5.7: added integrated Aperture/iPhoto importer.
Nothing huge, but definitely some useful features.
Now with Lightroom 6, features added to your CC subscription version will be specifically excluded on the standalone product. The first of these may be the Dehaze slider, but I guess there is going to be others inside future. And once again my personal of a good method is marred with the poorly considered and greedy policies of Adobe. Im not sure the correct policy is - but I do know that this current policy could be the wrong one.
Ive read in a very few places where Adobe claims the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 prevents them from adding latest features to products already taken care of. Read more

Its OK. The sliders inside develop module are much faster and I applaud Adobe with the. Those really are important and one with the few logic behind why people use lightroom. But received from lightroom 3, I feel like performance generally should be as good as this after all this. I dont think they invest hardly anything in determining how to efficiently make use of the multiple cores on modern computers. My processor is around 50% utilized plus the interface is crawling to perform anything, and I provide an SSD. What gives?

So far Im really impressed with LR6; the GPU enhancement alone causes it to be worth the upgrade for me. I do all of my heavy lifting pixel-level editing in Photoshop, so my tastes are centered read more about performance and efficiency than additional features. I primary use LR to be a database management tool and basic developer, but still I d repeat the upgrade may be worth the cost. For those that do most or all in their editing in LR, this upgrade is large.
Adobe is constantly on the blur the queue between LR and PS with the help of more localized adjustments filter brushes in LR using this type of release. It s nice thing about it for those that don t need to bother with PS. I admit it ll even help increase my workflow for easy vacation or family pics when I m not planning to spend time editing. They also carry on and reduce the needs for external editors, together with the addition of HDR and Pano stitching, both of that permits you to maintain the file is really a mostly non-destructive format, in-line while using workflow of LR. I haven t were built with a chance yet to understand realistic HDR composites for architectural/real estate photography, but presuming that works well, between HDR and also the perspective correction they incorporated LR5, his or her sped up the workflow to get a whole lot of RE photographers.
