Pretty much a wholly new story and an alternative universe on this one, if youre trying to find GDI vs NOD action it isnt here. That being said, this can be a best looking RTS Ive seen, plus the gameplay is good as well as the resource gathering mechanisms are simple you dont need 9 different elements to construct a tank.
One thing to notice is that if youre just like me and want to beat up within the computer in skirmish mode custom game configuration which you could take on between 1 and 7 computer controlled opponents it's going to slow down in case you crank up how many opponents plus the skill level from which they play Im on 2x2.3Ghz G5, Radeon X800, 2.5G RAM. The one positive thing that could be said concerning this is that whilst it does slow down inside the heat of battle things excersice fairly smoothly whereas with my PC version the overall game begins to stutter and obtain very frustrating.
First off, the key reason why it should be called Age Of Generals. The older Command and Conquer games, to the PC, a very unique gameplay type and interface which is hard to explain, while Generals is much more like your average strategy game, including Age Of Empires or Warcraft. Also, the bucks system has changed through the older games.
Now, on the reviewing. WHile it truly is different from your older Command and COnquers that i lvoe a lot, IT IS BETTER THAN ALL OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ive played it for PC plus it may turn out a lttle bit different for that Mac, but it might probably basically visually different. Choose form 3 unigue armies; The United States of America, The Peoples Republic of China, and, the most popular, The Global Liberation Army.
the GLA is my fav because I love their cheap disposable units i enjoy big armies: as well as the fact that it normally won't need power to the buildings.
Another new feature introduced in Command and Conquer: Generals; general abilities. Similar on the God Powers in Age of Mythology, each army has some other set of unique abilities; these abilities can upgrade or battle-harden units, provide you with new forms of units, present you with special super weapons, and special sneaky attackslike Chinas artillery strike or GLAs Ambush. Here is 1 instance of a General ability from each army:
USA: A-10 Strike; Up to 3 A-10 THunderbolt II fighters unload their air-to-ground missiles on the target area, devastating all things in that area.
China: The Red Guard veteran ability gives all Red Guard units battle-hardeness, making all those units produced get started with Veteran status.
GLA: The Anthrax Bomb ability allows you to send a classic bomber dropping an anthrax-filled bomb on the large target area every 4 minutes. Read more
Command and Conquer: Generals is a wonderful game and Im glad to say the sport lives up for the CC name. Fans from the series will delight in the simular gameplay and you dont have becoming a fan to relish Generals. For those of you that are worried it will not be the same since Westwoods name isnt within the box developer of past CC games worry not since Westwood can be a part of Electronic Arts.
The interface is slightly different but computes nicely. Instead of having every building option open to you immediately, the options for each building become available whenever you click on them. Another nice switch the signal from Generals could be the 3D environment. Being able to rotate the digital camera and zoom in and out is really a nice feature to possess, especially when your units go behind buildings and also you hate the colored shadows that show as much as let you know where they're.
There certainly are a few things that I miss from your previous CC games. There arnt any naval units therefore if you wished to blast your enemies base far from off shore with Tomahawk missles, youll should keep dreaming. Another thing they took away would be the cinimatic live action movies for that storyline fact, there really isnt a storyline in any way. Ive played a few on the storyline missions and they're pretty fun thus far, however, it will have been nice whenever they had kept the live action movies. from CC games past.
Overall, I think anyone who is either familiar together with the CC games or likes RTS games should definatly check Command and Conquer Generals out.
I play the game on my recently purchased iMac G4 by having an 800MHz processor and 512MB of RAM and still have not had any problems whatsoever. The box states the needs are a 1GHz processor. This is an overstatement from the requirements for me. I were built with a Windows computer using a 1GHz processor and acted PC version and I don't see any difference inside game performances. The MAC version functions very well with the 800MHz processor.
Bought it after playing the demo. it runs well even on my own eMac 700, however i do have it maxed. 160GB Hard Drive along with a Gig of memory. note to a person with same style of machine/processor who would like to buy the bingo, set each of the graphics towards the lowest settings. you will always get decent eye candy, on the other hand did notice that while using factory setting, the structure construction seems cooler on highest and lowest settings. also, when you make use of the ultimate weapon for either team, you dont view the Big explosion, but to me on loss. I bought for the number of thinking you must do.
The product will never play during my computer. I do not have time to troubeshoot it.

Overall this is a solid RTS as well as a solid game. The missions are prettu fun nevertheless they can get repetative. The graphics are awsome and my low end eMAc 1.25 runs the overall game fine. Read more

GLA: The Anthrax Bomb ability helps you to send an existing bomber to go an anthrax-filled bomb on the large target area every 4 minutes. The bom does virtually nothing to medium-to-heavy armoured units, but instantly destroys and infanry units. It also leaves behind some disease for awhile.
Another new thing introduced would be the Super weapons both sides owns.
USA: The Ion cannon can be a classic in the Command and COnquer series. It is often a concentrated lazer that does destruction of a small area and you also can move. Takes 2 minutes to charge.
CHINA: A nuclear missile. Thats everything you should know. Decimates all things in a large area leaving behind a little of radiation. Takes 5:00 to load a different missile
GLA: The SCUD storm. Fires several anthrax-loaded SCUD missiles at the target area and does medium problems for structures, kills most armoured units and many types of infantry. Leaves behind anthrax for some time.
Takes 4 minutes to charge.
Command and COnquer will become the greatest thing to occur to Mac gaming ever. You guys wont know whats gonna hit you. Cant possible until April 22. Peace out.

The graphics are awsome and my low end eMAc 1.25 runs the experience fine. The only big flaw could be the AI which can be bad, really bad. Besides that the bingo is awsome and extreme fun.
