Wow. A blast in the past. I bought the program way back when I got my Ricoh 6201S 2x burner. It was the most effective thing for burning audio CDs because you could do DAO and obtain gapless recordings. I continue to have the program but I never have used it in a very LONG while. The best thing about CDRWin is that it truly is very simple to put in just copy the files into a directory and it doesn't depend on lots of DLLs within the windows directories. Let me just declare that I was obviously a registered for a while. Yes, the UI may have been improved, but CDRWin did what it turned out designed for and created a very small system footprint. My main CDRWin gripes provide an ISO image creation engine which includes occasional flaws in their handling of huge collections of files and directories as well as its lack of recording support for Panasonic/Matsusa DVD Multi LF-D521/SW-95x1/SW-95x2/UJ-81x series drives. Time has passed as well as other programs have evolved and improved. Where I once had trouble with Bin/Cue files and Nero I will no longer do and I use Nero as opposed to CDRWin. I have zero reason to possess CDRWin on any system I use or own because its antiquated. The addition of DVD support is often a feeble addition to keep the program current. Updating the supported drives is a useful one its the perfect time to throw inside towel. CDRWins days have passed.

Completely agree Bootblock. One from the reasons I know use Nero. I am not in favour on the bloat that is included with it, but CDRwin just doesnt make the grade anymore. There arent really another alternatives that has a nice GUI to Nero.
What may be the point of brand new releases for CDRwin? Added support for first time drives and added serials towards the blacklist. There hasnt been any latest features added and I still wonder that they could actually want money due to this program. In the past 4 years NO new features are already added maybe burn-proof and support for DVDs. Why that is known would you purchase something that statistically proven will not add a whole new feature or change problematic features.
Small and lightweight but certainly nowhere near simple to use.

Very bad listview design methodology: does CDRWin include the complete paths youve added, or can it include precisely the content below them? CDRWin is truly one of those rare programs.
It just keeps on working and well.
Unlike the large NERO it doesnt suffer on the constant bugs introduced with every upgrade.
The only upgrades it ever requires are needed to guide newer devices.
The program itself is convenient to use and you will need to be a total idiot for doing this not to burn precisely what you want. Selecting the correct settings you might need are extremely easy to accomplish.

I originally used CDRWin way back in 1998 and. it hasnt changed. At all. As per usual, Goldenhawk provide simply no change log whatsoever Id wager how they only blacklisted yet more serials within this new version. as usual, even their internet site is 100% precisely the same and hasnt changed during 5 years except with the addition on the words Windows 2000 and Windows XP. The files list for creating CDs is weak and just weird - how often Ive written a CD to discover that CDRWin has included the total path inside directory structure or has splattered each of the files in to the root from the CD is AMAZINGLY ANNOYING. I expect updating CDRWins interface to become beyond Arnolds capabilities. In summary: CDRWin utilized to be good, now it isnt. Not even close.

I have zero objection that Nero can be a nice prog, regardless the nationality of the company's authors. But it is not a utility program like CdrWin. Nero is often a full application but at twenty MB installed does precisely the same as CdrWin 1MB. Nero uses over than thirty 30 dll, exe, ocx files while CdrWin is single exe.

I come with an external USB 1 driver, which seems to become generally unsupported from the big cdwriting apps like nero and roxio. Tried this as well as my suprise it found my cdrw drive, unfortunately there the happiness ended as it had been so flaky, would obtain a little way thru burning anything then ignore the drive, Id must restart the app to acquire it still find it again.
Wasted litereally lots of cdrs before I gave it the boot.
now use stomp record now max, which although isnt as effective as nero/roxio, a minimum of works every time

First off 4.0 would have been a BETA version only and not became anything apart from that It was meant for SCSI drive only use. GoldenHawk Pulled some.0 beta and set the multirecorder support from 4.0 in versions starting at 3.9a.

This company and software is often a sham. You get to rent the program for 39.00 for just one year. After that, your key quits dealing with both new and old versions of it. Is it me or will it get annoying with apps such as this come out yet there's nothing really mentioned of what updates are actually made and 4.0a continues to be out to get a long time. incompatible with my nec 8x4x32 cd-rw drive, however it is definately usefull for rolling your own personal ISO images. I tried on the extender to produce a bootable sp2 integrated version of my retail win2k cd so I wouldnt should keep installing SP2 everytime I reloaded my machine.

If you've got Nero, copy the file through your Nero folder to WinNT/System32 and it'll work fine. If you dont have Nero, hunt around for AspiMe and install that. You requires to roll back your date to sometime in 98 for that to fit.
A WORD OF WARNING. For some reason ASPIMe makes same of the programs think youre running Windows NT and could cause some problems.

Hey Jeff, where would be the cue sheet editor promised in version 2??!! Were still waiting. I paid high dolar just for this program and continued to pay for outrageous upgrade prices waiting for first time features that never came. That all ended a long time back. I got fed up of recieving 0 tech support for my money and basically no new originiality being introduced into the offer. Same drab interface this program is wearing since day 1 almost.
