Q: will this work when the program is usually a clean install, when you must update to operate MSE?
bt u can t run scan till Security Essentials updates.
You can t install MSE without web connection. remember it must validate the windows! if you want to re-install the MSE then its better make use of the offline updates along with the pack contains most updates
there isn't any problem should you downloaded them daily. but it really looks like total waste.
pack has the past updates also. whenever you live update them they are going to download a CURRENT updates.
Did you might have an connection to an orginal microsoft article due to this offline update feature?
