Simple procedure - sortuv - You cant run set-up considering that the installer can be a 16 bit installer and XP64 wont run that. So you install ArcView 3.x on the non-XP64 computer. Copy the c:ESRIAvGIS30 directory and also the C:Program FilesCommon FilesESRI directory and hang up them in the same location on the XP64 machine. Instead of C:Program FilesCommon FilesESRI within the 64 machine, copy it to C:Program Files x86Common FilesESRI.
Then you take regedit around the XP64 computer and head to HKEYLOCALMACHINESOFTWARE and make up a new ESRI key if an individual doesnt exist left click /Software and after that right click and select new Key. I was trying to accomplish that but in this little 64-bit machine the ESRI folder has similar files more modern one because I have installed ArcGIS 9.3 first. Sould I overwrite the files, wouldnt that be a difficulty when I run ArcGIS?

First, don't overwrite ArcGIS files with ArcView 3.3 files.
I have always installed ArcGIS inside a directory named ArcGIS as an alternative to ESRI, so I never run into your problem you describe.
There appear two techniques may manage your each is really a different way to end up having the situation where ArcGIS 9.x and ArcView 3.x are set up on different directories.
