I considered this dictionary for the library while scheming to make a decision between two other dictionaries Merriam-Webster Collegiate, 11th edition and Websters New World College. This library was lacking New World, but did have MW and also the text looked very muddy for me, not inviting. My children and I also checked out some on the other dictionaries available just like the Oxford Shorter English and also this American Heritage. Both had clean, crisp text though the AH also had the principle words in blue, the definitions in clear black and color pictures within the margins. I admit that I was drawn on the color pictures and discovered the blue printing really made the word what stand out and invited perusing for enjoyment.
The other dictionaries could have better selections plus much more extras and I would almost certainly prefer a CD/download that works well on Windows rather than iOS or Android, but this could be the one where I would take advantage of the experience.
