So far Im really impressed with LR6; the GPU enhancement alone causes it to be worth the upgrade in my opinion. I do my heavy lifting pixel-level editing in Photoshop, so my tastes are centered on performance and efficiency than extra features. I primary use LR being a database management tool and basic developer, whilst still being I d repeat the upgrade is really worth the cost. For those that do most or all with their editing in LR, this upgrade is large.
Adobe is constantly on the blur the cloths line between LR and PS by having more localized adjustments filter brushes in LR with this particular release. I posted a one-star review a couple of hours ago and have absolutely retracted it. This revision could be higher but Im still ticked in the serial number issue. Like several other one-star reviewers I could not chose the serial number to setup the software, despite if over 1 hour of browsing the Adobe www site all night in circles that tend to led to having me look about the box or perhaps the DVD sleeve.
After tearing your box apart to prove my case by scanning the top's and back, I found the serial number for the inside box cardboard. You can type of see the serial number on the URL provided by Jeff at Adobe within his comments for the other serial number comments here.

Ive been a Lightroom user since version 2 and don't looked back. As a photogapher, Lightroom seemed perfect- it turned out light weight, it had been fast, and 99% on the time, it had what I needed so there seemed to be no requirement for photoshop. As such, I was happy they kept the standalone version once they started Creative Cloud. With version 6 however, I wasnt quite sure regardless of if the upgrade could be worth it. Adobe has buried that you can change your existing copy of Lightroom for approximately half the cost of an new copy. You cant even find the upgrade without planning to their site, and even if you go there they push the subscription option and hide the acquisition option. When you get the option to purchase, just choose upgrade as opposed to full.
But this version is hardly an upgrade. There are plenty of standalone editors that provide more options for making HDR images or stitching together panoramas. These are just throwaway features cluttering Lightroom. Adobe was apparently desirous to find something to offer: their sole motivation in moving to version 6 is always to push everyone to cover them perpetually. Its not enough to enable them to overprice their software-these are so greedy it doesn't even would like to sell a copy any further. They want you to definitely pay every month to the rest of your lifestyle to utilize it.

Initially I felt very aggravated from LR, as I struggled to understand in which the photos were stored. that unlike iPhoto which I used previously, the initial photo is just not actually inside LR programme When the penny finally dropped I started an extensive process of relocating photos from iPhoto to a brand new home in my hard drive, as during my experience iPhoto will not seem to be suitable for LR. I was grumbling about having to get it in any way, since I had LR3, but Adobe do not update it enough to incorporate RAW codecs for my new Sony camera. No, only LR5 would take action. Except my os wouldnt run And others is wide scale cumulative updates and software purchases.
LR5 is usually a step up from 3; I cant say how superior to 4 it can be. The key is usually to keep an eye for the price here - I was delayed in pressing the button on my small purchase, and was rewarded with a price drop of Р±С‘20, from Р±С‘95 to Р±С‘75. Big difference!

This was the 1st time I was choosing a software to be a direct download from Amazon, I wasnt conscious it takes a couples of minutes 30-40 for Amazon to confirm the setup, Initially I was worried that something wasnt right, hence I found themselves contacting Amazon, I was told with the call centre staff the initial build may take approximately 24 hours but soon after I spoke together with the staff I got the connection and I were able to download it. Speed performance issues from LR4? Uh!? Are you utilizing a 2004 computer? I have never experienced such thing as performance issues.
Lightroom performance will not be terrible however it's far from good. Try load a few thousand pictures for your library and try and process them really quick. You will start observing significant time-frustrations which other competitor software tend not to seem to have. LR4 is slow as being a dog on both of my computers an 8-core plus a brand new i7 quad, both with ample RAM and SSD s. It s ok however ok, still not fast soon you use noise reduction, spot adjustments, distortion correction, or anything beyond basic adjustments.
Speed is going to be the 1 determining factor on if I purchase LR5.
RF I have precisely the same problem as yourself. Using brush adjustments is brutal usually, and I m hoping performance will likely be better.

Using Lightroom having a light weight computer will produce frustration. You definitely have to have a fast computer with ample memory for Lightroom to operate properly.
