Lightroom 6 isnt much different than version 5, so Im not planning to rehash explaining what are the program does and why it's very great.
I suspect what individuals care most about are Panorama and HDR. Ive never had performances problems with LR5, and I doubt LR users consider tons of pictures of relatives and buddies over and over again that they want facial recognition.

I posted a one-star review several hours ago and still have retracted it. This revision could well be higher but Im still ticked within the serial number issue. Like several other one-star reviewers I could not obtain the serial number to fit the software, despite over one hour of browsing the Adobe www site on and on in circles that tend to led to having me look around the box or perhaps the DVD sleeve.
After tearing the lamp apart to prove my case by scanning the quilt and back, I found the serial number within the inside box cardboard. You can form of see the serial number on the URL provided by Jeff at Adobe as part of his comments towards the other serial number comments here.
The issue that somewhere inside the installation routine or around the box, it must be clear that you'll want to cut your box apart to acquire to the inner sleeve containing the number. There are other alphanumeric strings all above the box and within the DVD sleeve with out clues that you should tear this area apart for getting to the phone number.

Ive been a Lightroom user since version 2 and do not looked back. As a photogapher, Lightroom seemed perfect- it absolutely was light weight, it turned out fast, and 99% times, it had what I needed so there is no need for photoshop. As such, I was happy that they can kept the standalone version after they started Creative Cloud. With version 6 however, I wasnt quite sure perhaps the upgrade can be worth it. There is face recognition along with a few minor additions, but I was contemplating upgrading since upgrade costs are not too bad until I saw how they updated it and left the updates out from the standalone version in support of offered it with their rental version! Adobe has buried that you can get some new existing copy of Lightroom approximately half the price tag on a new copy. You cant even receive the upgrade without gonna their site, and even after you go there they push the subscription option and hide the acquisition option. When you chose the option to purchase, just choose upgrade rather than full.
But this version is hardly an upgrade. There are plenty of standalone editors that include more options to make HDR images or stitching together panoramas. These are just throwaway features cluttering Lightroom. Adobe was apparently wanting to find something to promote: their sole motivation in moving to version 6 would be to push everyone to spend them perpetually. Its not enough to help them to overprice their software-they are very greedy it shouldn't even want to sell that you simply copy anymore. They want one to pay on a monthly basis for the all your life to work with it.
The only other new feature will be the use of the graphics co-processor to speed things up. However, Lightroom runs just great as it is. I never hit a worry with Lightroom 5 freezing up or running slowly in this little MacBook Pro several years old now.
So, skip the lifelong Adobe tax and skip this version. But if you will need it then look for the upgrade that Adobe is hoping to hide within you.
