No drawing tools, to make even a simple rectangle.Basic shapes
Basically its exactly like a PowerPoint, just with added video export and quizzes.
Its a software program meant for dummy who cant use more efficient application for better interactivity.
If its simply for simple animation, video tutorial or presentation with add-on quiz capability, apply it.
Otherwise theres plenty better other tools available.
The funds are just not worth when you can actually make do with simple PowerPoint presentation.

This will not be an accurate review. Captivate 7 has nearly all with the features available which are listed within the cons. This user either don't even have the full version installed or perhaps limited on his or her knowledge of what it can do. I have been using Captivate for quite a while, and possesses improved with time. The functionality is significantly superior to PowerPoint.

I am still from the learning stage, but the software program is awesome. Of course, you receive what you purchase, Captivate is capable of doing way in excess of Camtasia, hence the purchase price difference. I will probably be using Captivate to try and do the working out for our Financial System upgrade and then for training on policies and procedures. Cant wait to acquire my hands dirty!

I had been having a fully functional trial version before purchasing it, so I knew what to prepare for. Ive only been deploying it for a couple of months, but learned that theres a lot that I could do with it right out in the gate, as easy functions are fairly intuitive, so when I need to learn how to accomplish a specific task, theres usually an instructional video online that addresses it. Captivates default publishing format is Flash, the good news is has the capacity for publishing to HTML5 and YouTube, so projects may be accessed by non-Flash devices. Overall, its a terrific program for creating online presentations and e-learning/testing. I would have given it 5 stars, but for just a few nuisance problems: so that you can have complete functionality over a PC, no less than, you've got to actually drill down with the computers Programs folder, right click within the Captivate programs icon and select Run As Administrator. Launching the program through the desktop icon might supply you with trouble having a few things like audio; this software takes an unusually long the perfect time to launch; some in the effects that may be applied to objects have little hiccups in the individual. I purchased this to try and do recorded training session for your office. Our trainers employ this to record software services that are then affixed to our website plus our software for customers to work with as refresher or new user training. As with most Adobe products it is rather detailed and allows you to perform almost anything it is possible to imagine to the particular product. In doing this it will take some training to master to really make use of the product. The good news is, Adobe along with other 3rd parties possess some great training available some totally free and others for reasonable fees.
Purchased this that has a couple of tutorial workbooks and reference manuals and the've allowed our trainers to know to prepare a good presentation which has a short learning curve.
I would recommend this product if you want to prepare tutorials or workout sessions that may be pre-recorded and playable or interactive. Keep in mind you'll need some additional training, either workbook or online to raised utilize the product.

I downloaded Adobe Captivate 6 but got an error message that I needed 64 bit to activate. My download capability is 32 bit. What do I do? Thanks

From the technical specifications it doesn't appear that Captivate currently supplies a 64-bit version. This would seem sensible as what Captivate must be used for wouldn't normally neccesarily benefit coming from a 64-bit version. I disagree, but there IS indeed a 64bit version of Captivate 6. Ive just installed mine in addition to the 32 bit version of Cp6 in the Elearning Suite 6.0.
So, after you download your version of Captivate 6, ensure you choose the correct 32 or 64bit version to setup:

I just purchased and attempted to download the subscription version of Captivate6 on my small pc after successfully while using 64 bit trial version. I received an oversight message that my installation failed as the product can only be installed with a 64-bit system.
The installation page is poorly build - - you will find multiple listings for downloads, however they do not specify 64 bit or 32 bit. For the subscription, it won't look like the screen shot furnished by RodWard. Very frustrating time wasting!
